Deluxe Custom Crafted Cape Henry Lighthouse

Located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the Cape Henry Lighthouse sits on the southern entrance to Chesapeake Bay. The original lighthouse was completed in 1792 while George Washington was President. Although it was decommissioned in 1881 due to structural problems, the old tower still remains today and is a historical and architectural landmark. The “new” Cape Henry Lighthouse was built a short distance away and was illuminated on December 15, 1881. This newer lighthouse is a very distinctive marker; it is octagonal and the top and bottom halves are alternately stripped black and white. The newer Cape Henry Lighthouse is still an active navigational aid for mariners entering the Chesapeake Bay. The public can visit the older tower and the “new” lighthouse is within viewing distance.
